Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

I want to first start off by saying thank you. Thank you to everyone who donated and was involved in this whole process. I have never been donated anything in my life before, so this is very surreal for me. It's things like this that make me a strong believer that people who do good things, well good things happen to them. These hand controls for my truck will help me out tremendously with me becoming more self efficient. I love driving and I love cars in general. So from the bottom of my heart thank you, it's people like you that make this world go around. again from my family and I thank you Myk

Handicap Modifications To Vehicle

My Story:

I was diagnosed with Pompes disease at age 13. At age 20 I was wheelchair bound. I'm now 26 years of age and receive a new treatment called Myozyme. Last year January 2007 I began this treatment and it has improved my life considerably.

I'm able to be off my Bipap ventilator and have been able to do more things on my own. I have been blessed with a beautiful 5-year-old little girl. I was with my daughters' mother for 8 years. Since September 07' my wife and I have been divorced. With the divorce I assumed all of our debt that we collected together.

My only income is SSI and nearly half of the amount goes toward this debt. I get my daughter every weekend and I have my treatment every other week. This is why I would like help with these modifications to my truck. I would be able to become more self-efficient.
I need help getting handicap hand controls and my trucks height lowered. With the hand controls I would be able to drive myself and not depend on others to take me, with the height of my truck lowered it would be considerably easier to get in and out of my truck, and it would also be easier to get my wheelchair in and out.
