To the supporters of Modest Needs, Together with the wildlife who live along the Rio Blanco in Colorado, I wish to thank all of you who contributed to the purchase of this battery for my solar-powered trailer home. Although the little Yamaha generator I use is very efficient, and puts out less poisonous exhaust than most others, all of us eventually get a trace of it, just as when the cars pass by. Now we can all breathe a little easier on cloudy days and at night, especially during winter. You may be interested to know that some effective writing will be taking place, especially in the 'wee hours' when clear thinking is at its peak, and the old batteries are at their weakest. There is a purpose in my refusal to abandon my share of humanity's work in favor of a more lucrative but less positive way of life. Less motor noise and cleaner air will serve the purpose even more. Battery To Run My Home
My Story:
In 1996 I lost my permanent home due to an objection that a family member raised against my father's wishes concerning inheritance. They eventually gave me some money as an appeasement. However, since I had no regular income at the time, I couldn't qualify for a mortgage.
So, I ended up on a 1.6-acre lot in the country, with only a travel trailer to live in. I use a generator to supplement a small solar panel array, but now with the rising cost of gasoline, and being 16 miles from a filling station, the generator is very expensive to run. I have several small golf cart-type batteries that are 8 years old and failing. One large battery such as the GPL-8DL Lifeline would make it possible to get by on cloudy days and at night without needing the generator.
