Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

I appreciate the help and financial assitance to fix my floor so that I don't have the risk of falling through anymore in my wheelchair. No other place could help me. I am so happy I am speechless. I can be more mobile now and actually get out of my house and do more things with my life. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Repair Of Floor

My Story:

I am writing to request repair of my floor inside my back doorway. I use this doorway as my main entrance to access my ramp in my wheelchair to go outside and get to my vehicle.

I have had a ramp built funded by the Medicaid waiver program, but they will not widen the doorway until my floor is repaired, for fear that I will fall through the floor once I get in the doorway. The waiver will not pay for home repair, but they will pay for accessibility modifications.

Presently, I have to leave my wheelchair on my deck by the back door, and I must walk around inside using my cane and leaning on furniture. This is difficult for me, as it causes a lot of pain. I would like to be able to use my wheelchair both in the community and inside my home.

I have explored all funding options of which I am aware, but have had no success. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
