User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your generous gift. I know it was a hardship or perhaps you gave up something to help me out. I am so excited to get going in my career as a Social Worker due to your help that is going to be possible. I hope that I can help others as much as you have helped me. I love the field I have studied in and cant wait to 'pay it forward.' I promise that with the gift you have given me I will do my very best. Especially at this time of year I know people are busy doing christmas shopping for their family and friends and to give this to me is definantely a blessing and it shows me that people truely do care. This defiantely shows me the Christmas spirit. With this gift I can provide for my family with my new career and I can defiantely see good things happening to me and my family. I will be able to do something that my family can be proud of. Somedays I think no one cares, then some one like yourself helps someone like me. It changes my mind on knowing there are people out there that really do care about others. I am a kind and thoughtful person and I do what I can to help others thats why my career choice means so much to me and thanks to you that can happen. Again thank you so much for this great blessing to me and my family. May God bless you always ( I know he will due to your generousity) Also Merry Christmas and Have A Happy New Year!

Single Mother Needs Help Paying for License To Become a Social Worker

My Story:

I am a single mother of five. My oldest is 26 and my youngest is 15. I currently hold a job, but really want to get working in my field of study, which is Social Work. I need Modest Needs to help me with the expense of my license exam for Social Work so I can in turn help people.

The reason I need help with the license exam expense is because I barely make enough to pay the bills I have. I recently moved in hopes for a new career and new life. I had a job that I thought would help with that, but I was misinformed and it lead me to financial hardships. I am a very proud person and I hate to ask for help, but I know I cannot succeed and become what I want to be without help from others. All I want is to become one of the best Social Workers I can be. I want to help those around me. I love the work and all I need to do is to pass the test to get my license.

The thing that I am afraid of is that I will not be able to fulfill my dream and my college will be wasted because if I am not able to get my license. When you barely make enough to pay the bills it sometimes looks pretty bleak. I have had to work two jobs before, which I can do again, but I would prefer to have a job I love and be home for my family. I work very hard and struggled a lot to get that degree. My children sacrificed a lot for me so I could get it, and now it's time for me to pay them back. I'm afraid I won't be able to do so if I'm always working minimum wage jobs.

Funding for my license test will help so I can get my license and start my Social Work career and help others. It has been a long struggle for me to get this far and for me not to be able to get my license because of this fee would be a shame. I put my family through a lot, in going to school and getting my masters degree. I was able to get my Masters degree in 4 years instead of 6. I think that shows some strength and determination to get my career going. It will make such a great difference in my life with my license. I will be able to get a better paying job and be able to handle my financial obligations. Thank you so much for your help.
