This person has left the following thank you note:
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for funding my application for rent help. Your kindness and generosity, especially during the holiday season, is a true miracle for me! The contribution all of you have made will allow me to keep my apartment, the first home I have independently had in 7 years. As a proud veteran, I am especially grateful to all who contributed to this and other applications from modest needs. I believe this is what makes Americans like all of you fellow comrades in the battles of life. I am truly thankful and wish all of you blessings unimaginable. Thank You!! Tom
Disabled Veteran Needs Rent Help
My Story:
I am a disabled U.S. Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War. I live alone in a low income apartment complex run by the Community Service Foundation in Clearwater, Florida. I am divorced with two grown children from my first marriage. They are 27 and 28 years old. I am diagnosed with Panic Disorder, Depression, Cirrhosis, Pancreatitis, Hypertension, and Tachycardia. I have worked hard over the last few years to overcome my alcoholism and have been sober for three years now. This apartment is the first place I've been able to independently live for over seven years. It is a one bedroom, and I really like it here. I am afraid of losing my apartment. Please help if you can.
I need help with my past due rent. I have received an eviction notice from the landlord. I have a 1996 Ford Explorer that unexpectedly needed repairs. This is my only means of transportation to my medical appointments, psychiatric appointments, AA meetings, grocery store, etc....I am afraid I will lose my apartment or have to sell my truck to pay the rent.
Normally, I can just get by with the disability pension I receive monthly. I have gotten rid of my cell phone and applied for a free phone for low income individuals. I have attempted to work day labor, but am having problems with the strenuous labor because of my medical problems. With this help I can return to being able to pay my monthly bills. I can get out of this hole. I am trying to get ongoing assistance from the VA in hopes of receiving vouchers on a monthly basis, so I can afford to handle emergencies that may arise. Thank you for considering my request.
