Help Her Afford Life-Saving Kidney Dialysis
My Story:
She is a 63-year-old Jacksonville, Florida woman who lives alone. Her only income is her social security disability because the is on PD dialysis 365 days a year. She makes just enough to pay her bills each month.
She is very stressed and depressed because she can't afford the bill for her dialysis this month after a jump in her rent amount. Without dialysis, she could die, so she would be forced to not buy groceries or let her energy service lapse, neither of which is a viable option.
And so, under the Independent Living Grant, this individual is seeking one-time assistance with the cost of her kidney dialysis bill. This help would keep her healthy and safe and allow her to rest her mind about her financial worries.
