Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI am so grateful for the many people who have donated in order to help me purchase the sling to use with my Hoyer lift. With this apparatus I will be able to continue to live in my home. This sling will help me to stand from a seated position. Its use will prevent injury to my home care workers (and myself) as I attempt to transfer. The generosity of others (strangers to me) is a beautiful thing to be a part of. You can be assured that I will be passing this generosity forward in my life! In love and gratitude, Georgena

Adult With Fast Progressing MS Needs Accessibility Equipment Necessary To Remain In Home!

My Story:

My household includes two people, my care provider and myself. I was diagnosed with MS in 1997. It proved to be a fast progression and in three years I needed a wheelchair and a new career. I could no longer do my chosen profession as a self-employed cabinetmaker. Today, I have no use of my legs and have very limited arm movement and strength. My hands are in the shape of fists. I do have the use of my left thumb and with the help of technology, I am very active and doing what I can to help myself and others.

I need Modest Needs to help pay for a sit-to-stand sling for my Hoyer lift. Up to this point I have been able to use double grab bars to assist my home care worker went toileting. I no longer have the consistent strength for this. Due to the progressive nature of my multiple sclerosis, I occasionally need medical equipment that is not covered by insurance, as is the case now. I need this sling in order to continue living in my home and remain positive.

With the use of this sling and Hoyer lift, I will be able to stay in my home indefinitely, and you would be to thank!. As far as I can see into the future, this may be the last necessary item to meet my daily living needs. Thank you!
