Caregiver of Disabled Husband Needs Help to Pay Her Own Emergency Medical Bill!
My Story:
My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we have two children. On May 18, 2007 my husband suffered a massive life-threatening stroke. He was left with total paralysis of his right arm and hand, vision difficulties, severe Aphasia or trouble speaking, a seizure disorder, and can no longer read, work or drive. At the time of his stroke, he was the only one employed in our family. He is now permanently disabled and requires supervision.
In late 2011 I had to have a complete thyroidectomy due to a growth on my thyroid that we had been monitoring, but which had picked up speed in growth. I was left un-insured after my husbands stroke, but have managed to pay off those medical bills.
This past summer (2012) I encountered another dilemma. A sebaceous cyst on my neck (which I've had for several years) suddenly became infected. Two ER visits and two rounds of antibiotics showed not much improvement on the infection and even resulted in an allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics. The only favorable course of treatment was to surgically remove the infected cyst. That surgery took place two days later with prepayment of $527.17 to the surgeon.
I am respectfully asking Modest Needs for assistance with my Anesthesiologist bill, which I have been able to pay down. Since we live on a fixed income it would just be a huge relief off my shoulders to be able to afford the rest of this bill, and help my family to recover from this latest medical crisis.
If Modest Needs donors could fund my application, it would make me eternally grateful for those who came to my aid. In the future, I hope to be able to help others when their luck has gone in an unfortunate direction. I can't imagine the feeling that might bring to a person.
