This person has left the following thank you note:
In my life nothing has ever brought me to my knees faster than when doctors told me my baby has a chronic life theatening condition. During these turbulent months help has been hard to find, and few have offered. You have lifted a burden from our shoulders and our spirits sing with the blessings of help from strangers. Your generosity brings tears of joy to my eyes. With renewed hope in our hearts my Husband and I sincerely Thank You for reaching out with open arms and helping our family. My son is stable, improving, and the doctors are optimistic about his future.
Non-paid FMLA Leave Due To Sick Toddler Has Set Us Back! Please Help With Mortgage!
My Story:
My husband and I have a 17-month-old who suffers from a life threatening liver disease that has caused him to need a feeding tube, regular blood sugar checks, and intense therapy. His treatment is ongoing and involves a lot of doctor's appointments. I work a clerical position, which gives us health insurance, and my husband works in construction, thereby his checks vary.
Our son's illness was very unexpected, and my husband and I make just enough to pay our bills. Each paycheck is precious and any emergency or loss of income really harms us. This is what happened when my son had to be hospitalized and I had to take multiple days off from work. The amount of income lost from the days off in the past two months have led us to fall behind in our mortgage, and we are currently at risk of losing our home.
I am afraid without Modest Needs help we will continue to have to choose between medical care, food and catching up the mortgage. My son cannot go without his feeding tube for more that 3 hours, because that results in seizures.
Catching up the mortgage would allow my son to have a stable environment he is familiar with to grow in. It will relieve my husband and myself of the stress, frustration, and worry of losing our home; having to pack, move, etc. Knowing that strangers from all over the world might care enough to help my family would lighten our hearts that people really do care.
