I woke up this morning and read the modest needs update, it said fully funded! I read it twice because I couldn't believe it. Then I cried.....the true compassion of people hit me like a ton of bricks. There are angels among us and I have witnessed it. I have been in a difficult emotional and financial situation, one that has burdened my family and this has allowed a wonderful sense of relief to my family and I. We are amazed at all of you who have given, not only financially, but of yourself. Thank you does not seem like enough but know that we are deeply, deeply grateful! I am sure the donation you gave did not seem like a big deal to all of you but it has made a huge impact on my family!!!!
Recently Paralyzed Cancer Patient Needs Help With One Medical Expense
My Story:
My household consists of my wife and myself. We have a total of five grown children between the two of us. They are all adults with children of their own now. I have been disabled, because of back related issues for a number of years, but only recently lost the ability to walk. Prostate cancer has spread throughout my body and gone into the bone. I am currently in a learning facility gaining my strength and getting radiation for the remaining cancer. My wife and family have had to undergo the stress of this life-changing event and have had to bear the burden of financial cost for my care.
I am turning to you to help me afford the cost of treatment at the current facility I am in. I am unable to afford this bill because I live on a fixed income, and do not have the means to cover the added expense after rent, food, and all the other medical bills I have to cover. Without some assistance I am afraid that my wife would be left with no means to support herself.
Not being able to walk prevents me from caring for myself fully. I have vowed to work my hardest to gain the upper body strength I will need to get around. I know I can still be an active person, despite not having the use of my legs. It has been difficult to accept but I know it is a challenge I can overcome.
Getting the help with the to pay for the rehabilitation would be a Godsend. It is awesome to know that there are people out there who care enough to share their kindness with me. It is the ultimate Golden Rule. Thank you in advance.
