I'm a Veteran & Single Mom of 6. After the State Delayed My Benefits, We Could Be Homeless Again!

My Story:

I'm a veteran and single mother of six children. My oldest is 15, and my youngest is 2 years old. We spend most of our time together; we just love each other's company. I served 6 years in the army as an operating room technician, and I can't work now due to my service-connected disabilities.

I have been thrown into a short-term financial hardship after needing to repair my vehicle and then the state delaying the renewal of my SNAP benefits. I needed to repair my car, so I could safely get my kids to school; as a mom of 6, I must have a functional car to keep our family running. The repair costs in combination with the costs of having to purchase all our groceries have made covering this month's bills much more difficult. I have faced homelessness before, and now that I have escaped, I will do anything to ensure my kids and I do not end up in that situation again.

I am asking for help with my rent this month, so we can stay afloat until the state renews my benefits. We will be able to recover from this one-time setback with my car's repairs and not face eviction. Your act of kindness will keep all seven of us safe and taken care of for the foreseeable future. Thank you so much.
