I'm a Breast Cancer Survivor & After Losing Months of Work for Treatment, I'm Facing Homelessness!
My Story:
I am a single woman with no children, but I'm very close to my family despite them being spread throughout Michigan and Ohio. We all try to get together as much as we can. I spend most of my time now with my 2 fur babies, Boo and Daphne, and I work full-time in a dining center for an insurance company.
Sadly, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of last year. I had chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation which forced me to take off work for over 6 months. Then, after I returned, I ended up getting sick again which reduced my hours. I've only just returned to working full-time and my paychecks are coming in consistently now, but I am struggling to get back to how it was before.
I am asking for help with my rent. My family has helped as much as they can, but it is affecting their finances now. I am so scared that I will have to move somewhere else or be in a shelter. This act of kindness with my rent will help me regain stability, catch up on everything else, and most importantly, keep my pets and I in our home. I will continue to work and get back on top again. Thank you so much for anything you can give to my situation.
