Modest Needs is a life saver and definitely a worthy charity that helps out people in need. I freelance as a videographer and editor. While going to what I thought was a job, I was robbed at gun point and all of my camera equipment was stolen. There was nothing I could do since I had invested everything I had into that equipment. I had worked for years saving up the money to buy everything and It would have taken a long while before I could afford buying anything new. My story was printed in one of the local papers and I was immediately contacted by someone who recommended Modest Needs. I signed up as soon I could. The website was very straightforward and easy to use and I was talking with the wonderful people at the charity soon after. They made every effort to replace all of my equipment and I was able to get back to work literally that same day. I could not have continued in my line of work had it not been for Modest Needs and have them to thank for the fact that I am working again. I don't know what I would have done without them. If you are thinking of donating your time or resources to a charity and don't know which one to pick, you should definitely consider Modest Needs. They are a wonderful group of people who put every effort into helping other get back on their feet. Anything that you give them will go toward a worthy cause and will greatly benefit the community.
Camera Equipment due to Mugging
My Story:
I am a young videographer by trade and I recently placed an ad on Craigslist to try to drum up some business for myself.
I received a call to shoot a bachelorette party but when I arrived, the woman who called to set up the shoot was not there. I ended up being robbed at gunpoint by two men for my wallet and all of my camera equipment.
Since my equipment is how I make my living, I obviously cannot work doing the job that I love without this equipment.
Unfortunately, camera equipment is very pricey, which is why I am asking for help to replace some of the items that are essential to my line of work.
