Apt. Fee During Cancer Treatment

My Story:

I am a self-employed social worker psychotherapist with prior chronic illness who just received a diagnosis of breast cancer on July 11th. I have no health insurance or other resources and my self-employment status makes me ineligible for most benefits, including Medicaid. Because of this I will have no way to support myself and my business during the month I will be having and recovering from surgery. I had to relinquish my private office where I have been located for seventeen years and will have insufficient income to cover my living expenses during cancer treatment (assuming I can be accepted at an indigent care hospital to get it). The co-op board in my building begins eviction proceedings on the 9th day of the second late monthly fee payment. I believe that the stress of not being able to pay my monthly maintenance fee at the same time that I am undergoing and trying to recover from major surgery (and having to simultaneously vacate/move my things out of my office) will be extreme and hamper my recovery. I will have to significantly alter how I earn a living after recovery, and may still have to relinquish my home if I can't find sufficient work afterwards. I am alone with no children or family connections and have to research and obtain any possible assistance to meet my needs while I am undergoing the surgery all by myself. The stress and overwhelm of this since my diagnosis has been almost unbearable, as well as the indignity of being refused Medicaid and other significant assistance until I get back on my feet, because I am self-employed (and pay self-employment tax). I would be grateful if you could provide the $928.76 for one month apartment maintenance fee while I undergo and try to recover from major surgery. I believe this will also free up whatever decreased income I may earn during the month so that I will be able to pay for food, my home loan payment, home owner's insurance, and other living expenses.
