Modest Grant For Special Mattress.
My Story:
With this letter I am making a humble request for a reasonably priced orthopedic mattress in order to better accommodate my numerous medical conditions. In short, I suffer from a heart condition, diabetes, and a crippling spinal condition called Stenosis with Degenerative Disc Disorder. My orthopedic doctor has recommended that I have a firmer mattress to minimize the tremendous pain that makes sleeping so difficult. The requested amount includes the necessary delivery of the mattress/box spring set. My regular Medicare insurance benefit will only finance a standard hospital bed that will not suit my needs. In my working past, I had no problem making these simple accommodations for my health; however, now I live on a fixed income in subsidized disability housing where I care for my granddaughter with asthma and cannot afford even to make payment arrangements for such a mattress. I am looking forward to feeling more comfortable and moving more independently. I greatly appreciate your consideration of my needs. God Bless.
