New Job, Car Insurance Due

My Story:

I'm a professional woman who due to the economy was laid off last November from an engineering firm, my second job in the last 22 years. I have been hitting the streets daily since to no avail. I have been paying my car insurance monthly but with my unemployment ending, I can't keep the monthly premium up, they now want it all for six months.

Without insurance on my car, I can't keep looking for a job (I am not one to drive without insurance) I have a temporary holiday retail job for the holidays. That will pay my land lease this month but will not help with any other bills, let alone this. We have gone through all our savings the last two years just to stay above water. I hate asking for help but I have no other alternatives. Last year I was able to give back to Modest Needs, although it was modest itself, I was able to help.
