Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

Words can not begin to express how thankful I am for your generosity. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally. Having a new refrigerator means no more trips to the grocery two and three times a week and no more buying bags of ice daily! That alone is worth a million to myself and my son. The work that you do is wonderful and appreciated by so many. If there were more people in this world like you, it would be a much better place in which to live. You have given me the best holiday ever! May God bless you all. Thank you again for all you have done.

New Refridgerator For Mom And Son

My Story:

I am 60 years old and living on SSI. I also have a 14-year-old son. In August of 2005 we lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. We relocated to Kansas for 3 years and used the FEMA monies to start over. I purchased used appliances in order to have enough money to come home left over. Up until about a month ago all the major appliance were working fine.

Last month the refrigerator started showing signs of breaking down. Last week it finally gave out. I have been using an ice chest since that time. I have looked into having it repaired, but have been told by several service companies that since the refrigerator is 30 years old it is simply not worth repairing or if parts needed would even be available.

So I am left with using an ice chest and purchasing ice daily. This Christmas will be sparse to say the least, but I would like to have a refrigerator so that I can at the very least have a place to store something more than sandwich meats, milk and water.

After paying monthly expenses, there is barely enough left over to just purchase shoes and clothing for my son. This is one expense that I simply cannot afford. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
