Missed Work/Cutback: Need Rent Help

My Story:

To whom it may concern: I am writing this letter to ask for your assistance with my rent. I am a single parent who has worked hard and done well for myself over the years. Now, with all the cutbacks and lack of work within the agency, which I work, I have not been able to earn a stable income to adequately pay the expenses that I have been able to afford. My rent is two months behind and I am facing a possible eviction.

My child and I have been in the same home and school district for about four years, after getting out of an abusive relationship and moving to another state, and a move now would devastate my child. I am a survivor in more ways than one.

I am asking for your assistance to maintain the home I have provided for my child for several years now. I am a contract worker and in the past few months I have not been able to work the hours needed to earn a steady income. There have been cutbacks and incentives taken away as a result of the company's increased expenses and inability to make payroll. I continue to work minimal hours so that I am not unemployed and not able to provide any of the basic needs for my family.

As a result of the cutbacks and decreased caseloads, I have not been able to afford all of my monthly expenses. It is my hopes that the economy will turn and I will be able to earn a sufficient income and maintain once the bills are caught up again. I want to maintain some sense of normalcy in my child's life. We have not been able to afford outings or extra-curricular activities since January. I cannot even afford adequate childcare for the summer while I work. I have always worked hard and shown good work ethics to my son. I do not want to be homeless with him, nor cannot really afford to move. He does not want to change schools or make new friends now that he is going to the 5th grade this coming school year.

Assisting me with bringing my rent current and maintaining a home for my family will be more than appreciated. It will help me to keep from feeling as if I have failed my child after years of struggling and maintaining stability for him. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
