Single Mother Desperately Needs Help
My Story:
I am divorced. I have two children, ages 29 and 26. Only my 26-year-old daughter lives with me now. My daughter and I are both disabled. I have severe back problems, and my daughter has a learning disability. We both do not work. I cannot work because of my back. My daughter has tried to work but because of her disability she cannot find a steady job.
I need Modest Needs to help with a transmission for my van. I had a accident in March and totaled my car. Then I get this van and the transmission goes out suddenly. We now have to choose between fixing the car or paying the rent. We're in dire straights.
It has been a stretch of unforeseen expenses for us lately and we cannot handle it. I did not expect the transmission to go out, we even had the van checked out before I got it and it was fine. My son recently moved out on his own and we lost his contributions to the rent. I broke my arm in May. We already do not make enough money to get by. With these new expenses things have gone from bad to worse. I have no where else to go or anyone else to ask. My family cannot help us.
I am worried and stressed out. I do not know how to get my van fixed or how to pay the rent with both expenses hanging over our heads. We have no TV. We live only on the food we get through food stamps. We live very simply. We just need a little help to get out of this hole and then I believe we will be okay again.
Being funded would save us. We would be so blessed and thankful that someone who doesn't know us would be willing to help us. We try to help people by paying it forward. We are praying for help. Thank you in advance if you are able to help us.
