I Just Birthed My Son & Barely Survived Unpaid Maternity Leave. We'll Be Evicted Before I'm Paid!
My Story:
I am a single mother of three children. I have 8-year-old and 5-year-old daughters and a newborn son. My girls love their new brother and are very excited to give him all their hugs and kisses.
Since I am a single parent, I had no choice but to work for the entire duration of my pregnancy. I had to save as much as I could, so I would be able to make it through my maternity leave, as my employer does not provide pay for that kind of time off. I work for the government, and they hold our check for 2 weeks after returning from leave. I will be returning to work soon, but sadly, I have fallen behind. I just did not have enough to cover every bill this month, and because they hold our checks, I am worried I will not be paid in time to prevent a disaster.
My children and I are humbly asking for your help with our rent, which is one month late. We got a notice on the door a few days ago, and I'm very scared we'll accrue additional late and legal fees that increase our amount owed, thereby making eviction inescapable. This assistance will save my girls and I from having to go to a shelter with my baby. We have no one else we could stay with, so this really is our last hope.
