I Was Months Shy of Having PTO When I Gave Birth to My Daughter. Now, We're Facing Eviction!
I am a single mom of two beautiful girls. My 16-year-old loves dance and does a lot of volunteer work at her dance academy with the younger children. She enjoys helping them with the fundamentals of dance, and she's very talented, both as a performer and as a teacher. My younger daughter is just an infant who loves to smile. Both of my children are huge blessings, and everything that I do, I do for them. I work full-time at a cell center, and I love to spend time with my babies when I'm not working.
I live paycheck to paycheck, and that can be difficult at times, especially as a single mother. When I had my youngest daughter, I went on maternity leave, but I was informed after the fact that my leave would be unpaid. My employer requires that you be employed with them for 3 years to be eligible for maternity leave benefits. I have been employed with them for 2 years and 7 months. It's frustrating to say the least, but now I'm in a situation where I had to take six weeks off of work without pay. I'm struggling to cover my rent now, and I desperately need help to save my home.
For the sake of my daughters, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our rent. Without it, we won't have the means to catch up, leaving us homeless with nowhere to go. My maternity leave is ending soon, and when I go back to work, I won't have any trouble keeping up with our bills. In the meantime, though, we're facing eviction and need urgent assistance. Thank you all in advance for your support with our rent, and I promise that I will look to pay it forward soon.
