I Lost My Job & Due to A Long Gap in Employment, We're Facing Homelessness! Please Help.

My Story:

I am married to my wonderful husband, and I'm the proud stepmother of an amazing stepson. I am a Social Worker, and I work primarily in a school setting. I recently earned my Master of Social Work at the age of 44 years old, and I'm very proud of myself. It has done a lot to open more career paths for myself, and it's part of the reason, I was able to find my new job. My husband is disabled and can't work full-time, but he loves helping out as much as he can.

Our hardship began when I lost my job abruptly and unexpectedly back in December of 2021. I was terminated from my position for choosing not to receive the vaccine, and that wasn't done as a precaution by my employer, as I was, and always had been, working remotely 100 percent of the time. At the time, I was shocked, and while I was able to start receiving unemployment benefits, it took me months to find a new job. In fact, I wasn't able to start my new job until late last month, and my family really struggled to get by during that gap in employment. As a result, we fell behind on our mortgage, and we've missed two payments as of late and can't seem to get back on track with it. With that said, I'm asking for assistance with catching up on our mortgage so that my family doesn't lose our home.

Even though I'm working again, I only recently started to collect a paycheck, and I still can't manage to get us completely caught up. I'm afraid that if we delay or defer our payments for much longer, we could wind up losing our house. However, if we're able to get this assistance, it would restore our sense of stability and lift a huge weight off of our shoulders. This help would be an incredible blessing, and the answer to my prayers. I know that people can make a difference in the lives of others, and I would be beyond grateful for the kindness and consideration my family is shown.
