After Losing Hours at Work & After Taking In Another Child, I Need Help Keeping Our Phones On!

My Story:

I'm a single mom with a 17-year-old son at home. He's getting ready to head back to school this Fall and is excited to go back after a long summer. In addition to my son, I have also recently taken over guardianship for a 17-year-old girl with Grave's disease. She has been through a lot at a young age, and she needed a home, so I opened my doors for her. She's a wonderful young woman who loves music and who loves to sing. I work full-time currently, but I'm looking for a part-time job on evenings and weekends in order supplement the work I've lost due to COVID.

I work full-time for a health insurance company, and I've always made enough money to provide for my son comfortably. However, the pandemic has led my company to cut back on the number of hours we can work, and my paycheck has been cut in half as a result. Additionally, adding another child to the mix has caused my expenses to skyrocket, especially because of her medical issues. We've gone from getting by comfortably to barely making it by at all in the span of just a few months. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get caught up on all of our bills, and we can't find help anywhere. We don't qualify for food stamps, and the best that I can do right now for groceries is to go to our local food bank every once and a while. I've managed to keep a roof over our heads, but beyond that, I'm struggling to hold onto everything else. Right now, I'm worried about making our phone bill payment because it's a few months past due, and we could lose our service at any moment.

Losing our phone service would be a catastrophe. I'm positive it would have a domino effect on all of our other bills as well because not having a working phone would mean losing my job, and losing my job would mean losing our home, and so on and so forth. With that being said, this help would get us clear of that type of catastrophe, and it would put us back on track while I search for part-time work or until my hours return to normal. It will also give me and the children hope to keep going, and for that, I want to thank everyone who provides us with this generous support.
