My Daughter & I Recently Escaped an Abusive Situation! Please Help Us Keep Our Home!
My Story:
I'm a single father, and I'm raising a beautiful 4-year-old girl on my own. I work full-time to support her, and she attends daycare while I work. Any free time that I have, I spend with my daughter. I'm doing my best to be the best father that I can be to her, and even though we've faced a lot of adversity, we're still pushing ahead.
In August of 2021, my ex-wife was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she attacked me and my daughter. It changed our lives drastically, and we're still living with the trauma and consequences of her actions. My daughter suffers the most, and I'm doing my best to help her through her emotions, but she also needs her mother. I allow her to see her mother, with a lot of precaution taken, because every child needs their mother. Still, I have been in a lot of costly legal battles with my ex-wife, and I've had to change my entire life to focus on being a father to my daughter. I don't have any family in Texas to rely on for support, so I have to take care of her on my own, and the cost of childcare has been rising along with the cost of everything else. Right now, I'm struggling with our rent, and I need help if I'm going to be able to keep our home.
I'm seeking assistance with our rent because of the situation with my ex-wife. I'm working hard to give my daughter a better life, but as I adjust to being a single father, I really need help. Losing our home after everything that we've been through would be devastating. I don't know how we would ever recover from losing our home. With this assistance, I could finally focus on my daughter and taking care of her and her needs. As a father, I would be very grateful for this assistance, and I promise to pay it forward to another single father who is going through what I'm going through now.
