I'm Struggling to Afford Our Rent After it Was Raised & After My Hours Were Cut. Please Help!
My Story:
I'm a single mother, and I'm raising my growing 15-year-old daughter on my own. I'm very proud of her, and I do my best to support all of her dreams and aspirations. My daughter loves sports and dance, and she's currently on the dance team that's sponsored by our church. We're very involved with our church community, and it's been such a blessing for me and my daughter. To support my family, I work full-time as a customer service representative, and I've been doing that from home through the pandemic so that I can care for my daughter.
Normally, I'm able to make enough to cover all of our bills, but my employer has been struggling for the past few months, and they decided to cut my hours as a result. This couldn't have come at a worse time for my daughter and I because our landlord just decided to raise our rent significantly. Now, I don't have enough hours or income to cover our rent for this month, and I'm worried that if we fall behind, we're going to lose our home.
We desperately need help if we're going to be able to hold onto our home. I'm working on options to find another job or to see if we're able to find a new home and downsize. However, in the meantime, we're facing an emergency scenario and could easily be homeless if we can't afford our rent this month. For the sake of my daughter and her safety and stability, I'm humbly asking for assistance with our rent this month. This assistance would tide us over until I'm able to begin a new job or find an option to downsize, and most importantly, it would keep a roof over my daughter's head for the foreseeable future. For that, I would be deeply grateful, and I want to say thank you in advance to everyone who lends us their support with keeping our home.
