Our Savings Were Wiped Out by a Wreck. Then My Husband Got Sick. Please Help Us Keep Our Home!

My Story:

I am a married mother of four, and three of our children live with my husband and me. We have three girls and one boy. Our 4-year-old and 11-year-old girls are very smart and enjoy being outdoors more than anything. My stepdaughter is 14 years old and enjoys listening to music. She doesn't live with us full-time, but she's still a huge part of our family. Our only boy is 6 years old and loves Sonic. He had issues in school during our recent move to a new home, but now he is doing excellently in school. He enjoys playing football, but drawing is his favorite. Our children are our whole world, and the time that we get to spend with them is what my husband and I cherish most. My husband works a full time in a warehouse while I am currently finishing my last class to receive my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.

With my husband being the only one working right now, we live paycheck to paycheck and are vulnerable to unexpected stoppages in work or unexpected expenses in general. Recently, we've been facing issues with both. I was on the way to take my kids to school after dropping my husband off at work and was hit through a red light. This totaled my vehicle and because it was 50/50 in terms of fault, I didn't get anything for the accident. We had to find another vehicle and then ran into issues with it as well. Before that, we were struggling because I was told to stay home during the pandemic due to underlying health conditions that I have. Still, I was able to work a little bit by cutting hair. We weren't making enough to save anything or rebuild our savings after the issues with our vehicle. So, when my entire family got the stomach flu for two weeks, we started to really struggle financially because my husband has been out of work. He works for a temp agency, and due to poor communication between the agency and the business he was working for, he was labeled a no-call, no-show for the days that he missed. Now, he has to find a new temp contract, but in the meantime, we can't afford our rent for this month.

We desperately need help if we're going to be able to keep our home. We're still waiting for my husband to find more temp work, and we've burned through our savings dealing with our car. We've been homeless before, and for the sake of my family not having to experience that again, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our rent. I can't even begin to explain how grateful we would be for this assistance, so I will just say a simple and heartfelt 'thank you' to everyone who lends us a hand.
