I Was Laid-off While in Quarantine for COVID & Need Help Keeping Our Internet Service Please!
I'm a single father with six children, two of whom live with me full-time. My oldest has moved out on his own, and my three other children stay with their mom on the weekends usually, but I have them a majority of the time. I'm really grateful for all of my kids. They have big hearts, and you'll rarely ever hear them fight or complain about anything at all. We also have two dogs, Simba and Nala. Simba is a German Shephard we took in from a friend who couldn't care for him, and Nala is an Alaskan Husky we also took in after we had a friend who couldn' care for her. They're basically inseparable at this point!
From the age of 14 until now, I've always had a job. I used to get off the bus from school at my pastor's truck shop and would spend the evenings fueling big rigs and changing tires. I've always loved working with my hands, and I've been working on cars for most of my life. However, I recently tested positive for COVID and on the ninth day of my ten-day quarantine, I was told that I had been terminated from my job. They gave me no cause for termination, and I've got to say I'm really upset with the way that they've treated me. I'm a hard worker, so I'm going to put one foot in front of the other and continue to search for work, but in the meantime, I'm really nervous about my family's financial situation.
Right now, we're behind on our internet bill, and I'm worried that our service is going to be shut-off before I can find a job. Without our internet, my children will struggle with their schoolwork, and I'll struggle to find a job. I recently had to replace the transmission in my only vehicle, so I don't have any savings to cover this bill. We're down to our last pennies and need help desperately with this bill so that I can continue to look for work. With that being said, I would be very grateful for this assistance, and I promise to pay it forward when I'm on my feet again. Thank you all in advance for your generosity and compassion.
