I Recently Relocated for Work but Missed Time Due to COVID. Please Help Me Keep My Home!
I'm a single woman, and I live on my own after relocating to another state to start a new job. I began working as an MDS Coordinator for a long-term care facility in October of this year. I love my job, and I take a lot of pride in the work that I do to assist the elderly in my community. It's been a difficult year for me, and for all of us really, so I'm glad to have finally found a little bit of stability and a job that I enjoy.
Typically, I earn enough to make ends meet, but I've run into car trouble recently, and that's made it difficult to get by. No sooner than I managed to get the problems with my car fixed, I got sick with Coronavirus and had to miss work for 6 days. Normally, that would fall into the time-frame where I can take PTO, but I haven't been at my job for over 90 days, so I was paid for the time that I missed. Factoring that situation in with the expenses I had to pay to get my car fixed, I'm in a really difficult spot financially, and I can't afford my rent this month. I'm worried that if I come up short, I'll be evicted.
I'm in a new place, and I don't have any support in terms of family nearby or anything like that, so if I lose my home, I won't have anywhere else to go other than to a homeless shelter or my car. With that being said, I'm very humbly seeking assistance with my rent for this upcoming month. I'm not behind yet, but from what I understand, my landlord has an almost zero-tolerance policy in terms of paying rent late, so I'm worried I will be evicted if I fall behind by more than a few days even. I'm brand new to this state, and it took a lot for me to get here and find work, so losing all of the progress I've made would be really difficult to recover from. Plus, having an eviction on my record would make it difficult for me to rent in the future. For those two reason, I would be very humbled and grateful for this generous assistance, and I promise that I will pay it forward to someone who's in my position in the near future.
