User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeThere arent enough words to describe the amount of thankfulness I have in my heart for the generosity shown to me and my children. This help, especially at this time of year, will relieve so much stress and allow us to enjoy the simple things in life that some people unfortunately take for granted - like the warmth of heat in a home and food in the kitchen. We are all three so appreciative and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I Lost Work to COVID & to a Broken Arm! Please Help My Family Keep Our Home!

My Story:

I am a single mother of two wonderful children. I have a 15-year-old daughter that is creative and loves to bake, and I have an almost 13-year-old son that loves to make me laugh and who loves to play sports. I work full-time for the health department as a coordinator for a team that tries to find ways to help those that suffer from substance abuse, and I also work part time as a waitress to make ends meet.

I recently fought a long battle in court to obtain full custody of my children from their abusive father. In order to obtain custody, I had to agree to never receive financial assistance from him - to which I did because I would do anything to keep my children safe and healthy. On top of that, I lost my job to the pandemic and was out of work for nine months before finally finding work again recently. However, after finding work, I broke my arm and was out of work for a month without pay because of that, and then my children and I got Covid-19 and had to quarantine for two weeks. Between being out of work and fighting to get custody of my children, I've fallen on hard times and am having serious trouble with keeping up with my rent.

Staying in our home is my biggest concern right now because losing it would also mean losing custody of my children. It would be a huge blow to my family to lose our home, and it would lead to me being separated from my children which is just something I really can't even bear to think about. This assistance with our rent would put those fears to rest and would allow me to keep our home. I'm back to working and can take care of our bills going forward, but without this help, I won't be able to catch up in time to avoid being evicted. Thank you all for your generosity and kindness in advance.
