I can't even begin to thank everyone for helping us meet our needs. During this time when so many are struggling for others to throw us a lifeline means the world. I was just sitting trying to figure out how to cover all of the bills when I received word we were funded...it was such a relief not to try to figure out which bills wouldn't be paid so that I could afford groceries. Those who donated are angels and this will help us finally get a little ahead and give me some peace of mind. I plan to pay it forward and help others wherever I can.
I'm Going Through Radiation Therapy & Can't Work. Please Help Us Keep Our Home!
My Story:
I'm a single mother raising two teenage children, ages 19 and 17 years old. We're an extremely close family, and we try to spend as much time together as we can. When we get the chance, our favorite thing to do is to find nice places to go for short day trips. As a single mother, the responsibility to provide for my children falls squarely on my shoulders, and I work hard to do that by working full-time as the station manger for a local Christian television station.
When the pandemic began, I lost my job. I was out of work for over a year, and I really struggled to keep up with al of our bills. Finally, I've found work again, but I was also recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Unfortunately, my job doesn't offer paid time off, so I've had to miss numerous days of work without pay while I have surgery and radiation treatment done. My illness has put us into a serious bind financially, and I'm behind on our rent and utility payments.
My family is on the verge of homelessness now, so I'm humbly asking for assistance with our rent and utilities bills. Once I finish my treatment and get back to working consistently, my family will be able to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. However, until then, we're in urgent need of assistance so that we aren't forced out onto the street while I recover and undergo radiation therapy. We would be beyond grateful for this generous assistance, and I promise that my family will do our best to pay your kindness and generosity forward once we're through this hardship. Thank you.
