I Need Help with a Dental Treatment After Battling Cancer & Kidney Disease for the Past Year!
My Story:
I am blessed to be the wife of an amazing man who selflessly serves our country in the special operations unit of the US Army and the mother of our adopted daughter, Lilly. For over 12 years I taught art at a public high school, loved to be involved in the community, and volunteered with at risk youth. Unfortunately, in the past year my health has suffered due to cancer and chronic kidney disease, and I have been forced to quit teaching. It is an amazing opportunity to be with my daughter every day and see her develop and grow, and despite the circumstances with my health, I would not trade that for anything.
The cause of our short-term financial hardship is a recent dental procedure that I had to undergo, but it's rooted in the long-term struggles I've had with cancer and chronic kidney disease. Due to these conditions, my body has been under a tremendous amount of strain which has caused me a lot of medical issues beyond cancer and kidney problems. During my cancer treatment my jaw was dislocated and had to be wired shut for 8 weeks. The metal bars that were wired into my jaw and gums led to me having to have some gum graft surgeries, and then those led me to have several different reoccurring problems with my teeth and gums. Now, I have to have a gum graft surgery over seven separate teeth to solve exposure issues, and I also have to have an implant put in. After all of my other treatments and medical procedures, we have to pay this bill entirely out of pocket and need help if we're going to be able to do that.
I'm humbly asking for assistance with this dental care bill because it's absolutely vital to getting my health back on track. It's possible that if this bill goes to collections, it will destroy our credit score and could even go as far as damaging my husband's standing in the military. We've worked hard to build our credit score back, and my husband has worked hard to build his career, so it would be devastating to suffer a setback like this. On top of that, I could even be denied care in the future if we're unable to take care of these bills. Getting help with this bill would keep us from falling years behind our goal of buying a house, buying a car, and building a savings up. We would be so grateful for this help, and I want to thank everyone who supports us in advance.
