Your assistance is a blessing and I am full of joy to know there are still good people in this world willing to help others. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything.

I'm an Essential Worker, but I Lost Hours to COVID & Need Help Keeping Our Home!

My Story:

I'm a single mother raising two boys on my own, they are 14 and 11 years old. I'm really proud to be their mother, and they both do exceptionally well in school and have handled virtual school fairly well. They both love to spend time playing together. Currently, I work as an afterschool coordinator at our local public school, and I enjoy my job a lot. However, the pandemic has made my line of work very inconsistent because schools have been closed for most of the past year and into this year as well.

Even though I'm technically an essential worker because I work for our public school, my hours have been sharply reduced as a result of the pandemic. It's difficult to know when things will get back to normal because even now, we have staff members and kids test positive for Covid-19 often enough to warrant a lot of concern from parents and staff alike. I don't blame them at all because some of the cases we've had here have been very severe and have even led to some people being hospitalized.

It's been difficult for me to get by after having my hours reduced, and I'm worried that my family could be evicted soon as a result. We're behind on our rent and while that's my biggest concern, I'm also worried about being behind on my car insurance and electric bill too. Getting this assistance would get us caught up on all of those bills and would keep us from getting into a situation where we could lose our power or our home. I'm in the process of seeking out other, more consistent job opportunities, but in the meantime, this help would see us through this difficult situation. For that, we want to thank everyone who helps us keep our home and power. We will never forget this.
