We've Had a Hard Time Catching Up on Rent After Getting COVID & Need Help Please!

My Story:

I currently work part-time as a STNA, and because of my close proximity to Covid-19 patients, I actually ended up contracting Covid-19 back in November. Let me tell you, that is a Thanksgiving my son and I won't forget anytime soon. We were both sick as could be with Covid-19, but thankfully we both fully recovered and are doing okay health-wise now. I won't lie, being a single mom and a STNA are difficult roles to balance, but I take every day that I get as a blessing and work my hardest to take care of my son and my patients.

Since coming down with Covid-19 in November, we've had a difficult time getting by. We live paycheck to paycheck, and when I was out of work for almost a month, it put us in a really difficult spot financially. On top of that my son is also staying home from school most days of the week to learn virtually, and so I stay home to help him most of the time. Without being able to pick up more hours during the day, I've had a hard time catching up on the rent that we missed from November. I'm worried that if I can't catch up before the eviction moratorium expires, then I'll lose our home.

I'm asking for help with our rent because we have no way of being able to catch up on our own. I can't get my hours back until my son returns to school full-time, and in addition to losing hours at work, I'm not receiving any child support because his father went to prison recently. I'm working hard to do everything on my own, and I have always had a hard time asking for help because my mentality has always been that it's me and my son versus the world; however, I know that right now we won't be able to make it through this without help. We're fighters and we won't give up no matter what, but we would be extremely grateful for help with keeping our home. Thank you to everyone who lends us a hand with our rent. I promise we won't ever forget this and will do our best to pay you generosity and kindness forwards every day.
