This person has left the following thank you note:
Your sacrifice and care in helping me during this time will allow me to get back on my feet financially but also to continue healing and growing as a person. Im not good at asking for help. My recent struggles have provided me an opportunity to practice humility. Your kindness and generosity have saved me in more ways than one. I promise to pay it forward every chance I get. I am so inspired by and grateful to you.
I'm a Caregiver Who Had to Isolate After Being Exposed to COVID. Please Help Me With Rent!
I'm a 24-year-old caregiver for Visiting Angels. The past few years have been a long difficult journey for me. In 2016, I left school to seek treatment for bulimia, and I'm so proud of the progress that I've made since then. I've been able to become more independent since then too and have moved out of my parent's house and am living on my own. While I haven't returned to school to finish my degree, I have built a life for myself that I'm proud of. I'm building a career around a job that I love that allows me to provide aid, compassion, and dignity to my elderly neighbors.
I've been supporting myself in my new apartment since August of 2020, and although things have been tight, I've always managed to pay my bills on time. I have a lot of extra expenses to deal with beyond normal ones like rent and utilities. First and foremost, I have my student loans to pay off, and after that I have to prioritize my eating disorder treatments. So, when I was exposed to Covid-19 and had to miss work while I quarantined, it severely interrupted my ability to take care of all my bills. I'm really worried about being able to make my rent for this coming month and would like to humbly ask for help with that expense.
I'm thankful to have my parents to fall back on in times of hardship, so if I'm evicted, I will still have somewhere to go, but I'm worried that the that the shame of failing to strike out on my own will derail all of the progress I've made building confidence and healthy habits. This help would be huge for me because it would allow me to continue to my progress towards becoming healthy again, and it would allow me to continue to care for my patients as well. I would be incredibly touched to receive this help and could never forget your generosity and kindness.
