Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

I wanted to take the time and say thank you. You made a sacrifice to help me a stranger you don't know. You gave from your heart and that means more than you can ever imagine. We are living in a time where the world is full of hate. At the same time we have wonderful and giving people who give from the bottom of their heart. I'm trying to find the right words to graciously thank you all but realistically there just isn't enough words to explain or thank you enough. One thing is for certain I thank you and I will most certainly pay it forward when I get the opporutnity. Thank you for reminding me that there are still some loving and caring people in this world. Sincerly, Grateful Lady

I Worked 70-Hour Weeks Before COVID, but Now I Can't Find Work at All & Need Help Keeping My Home!

My Story:

I'm single and don't have any children, but I do have my 2-year-old puppy named Giselle. When I'm not working, I love to just spend time with her, but before Covid-19, I was basically always at work. I was working full-time as a restaurant manager and was working nearly 70-hours-a-week before I was laid-off due to the pandemic. I had been working for this company for more than 10 years before the pandemic.

It's always tough to lose your job, but after working for the same company, putting in 70-hour work weeks, being laid-off due to something entirely out of your control rubs salt in a pretty bad wound. Either way, I've been doing my best to make ends meet, but I'm still trying to catch up from when the last unemployment benefits expired. I'm behind on my rent and am really close to being evicted.

I've never been in this position before, but I don't have any way out other than to swallow my pride and ask for help with my rent. This would be a huge boost for me and would keep me in my home for the foreseeable future. However, even more than that, it would restore some of my faith in humanity. To know that there are people out there, people who don't even know me, who are willing to help me out of a really dire situation is just more touching than I can put into words. When I'm in a better place financially, I want to lend a helping hand to someone who's in the position I'm in now because I know how meaningful that would be. I can't thank you all enough for taking the time to read and consider my story and for your compassion and kindness as well.
