This person has left the following thank you note:

Good Sunday Morning:) This note is to express my sincere thanks for helping me in my most despite time of need. Your kindness goes beyond measure. A simple thank you just does not seem to say enough for all you generousness. I had surgery on Monday January 25 and was in ICU for several days. When I finally felt well enough to open and read my emails I was overjoyed by my request for assistance with my mortgage being funded! These monies have helped extremely and I can not tell you just how appreciative that I am. I am blessed by your kind hearts. Thank you for all you do and continue to do to help in time of crisis....

After Struggling with Breast Cancer, I'm Having Trouble Keeping Up with My Mortgage Please!

My Story:

I am the mother of four amazing, grown children and eight (with one on the way) wonderful grandchildren. I am a widow as my husband passed away from bladder cancer after a two-year struggle in September of 2015. I enjoy spending time with my terrific family and friends, gardening, going to church on Sundays, shopping, reading a great romance novel, relaxing on the beach, cooking, and snuggling with my warm blanket on the coach to watch a good movie. I have worked as a paraprofessional in our local school district for 19 years, and I absolutely love working with my students who are elementary, learning-disabled children.

Both my oldest sister and maternal grandmother struggled with breast cancer, so I routinely went to appointments to receive mammograms. I received notification after one appointment that I needed to undergo further testing, but New Jersey was shut down by then. So, I waited anxiously for the results of my test, and weeks later, the news was bad; I was diagnosed with breast cancer. At first a wave of grief swept over me, but eventually, I came to accept that I had to move forward one way or another for the sake of my family. I have put my trust into my faith and decided to move forward with treatment which resulted in a bilateral mastectomy.

With school being strictly remote learning based now, and after the death of my husband several years ago, I have no income to speak of. My ability to work after my surgery is also significantly diminished and the surgery left me with a lot of additional expenses.

I'm really struggling to keep up with my mortgage right now, and I could use some assistance before I'm in arrears. I've had to prioritize my health over some of my other expenses, and I'm worried that will catch up with me sooner rather than later, which could really endanger my home. Every day is a journey - sometimes frightening, sometimes emotional, sometimes overwhelming - but I try to take one day at a time and stay strong. This help would make those journeys a lot easier, and I couldn't be more thankful for that. From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful for your consideration and kindness.
