I want to thank modest needs and the donors who helped to fund my account. Now with your help I'm no longer weak and I have strength to move forward!
COVID Reduced My Husband's Hours & My Lupus Has Kept Me Out of Work. We Need Help Keeping Our Home.
My husband and I have one son that we raised together. He's 24 years old now and live on his own. I'd say he's our greatest achievement, and we're very proud of him. Currently, my husband works full-time for Canada Dry but is on reduced hours due to Covid-19. I'm unable to work currently because I suffer from Lupus, and my symptoms are so bad on a daily basis that it has kept me out of work for a while now.
It's been hard to get by on just my husbands' income, especially after the unemployment benefits stopped coming in. Now that those benefits have stopped, I'm trying to find employment with flexible hours. It would be enough to get us to place of stability eventually, but I just haven't had any luck at all finding work. However, my main concern right now is our rent because we're behind on it currently and have no means of catching up on just my husband's reduced income. We're facing eviction and really need help if we're going to avoid being homeless.
We've gone from making it on our own pretty easily to not being able to make it all in the span of just a few months thanks to this pandemic and my autoimmune disorder. I'm really scared at the thought of being homeless, especially during the winter. My fear, and the stress from this situation, is also causing my health to decline because the stress causes it to flare up. If I can just get our rent taken care of and get my stress under control, then we'll be able to at least get back to where we were prior to this pandemic. Thank you all for your consideration and compassion during this difficult time.
