I'm a Hardworking Teacher Who Needs Your Help with Rent Please!
I am a single woman who lives alone, and I worked as a substitute teacher before the pandemic began. I am an extremely hard worker, working two jobs just to make ends meet. I worked part-time at Lowes in addition to my job as a substitute teacher. I miss being at the school I was working at, and I really miss the income as well. Last year, I had a medical emergency that nearly cost me my life; as a result, I have had to quarantine since the pandemic began in March.
I have rarely been able to leave my house, but when I do, I have to take every precaution I can because the virus would be life-threatening to me if I contracted it. Being quarantined since March has also meant that I have been unable to work during that time, so I have been relying on the boosted unemployment benefits. However, those have not been renewed, and I am struggling as a result. I have extremely limited income and no way to pay my bills. I have fallen behind on my rent and am genuinely concerned about being evicted. I need your help to keep my home while I continue to stay indoors during this pandemic.
Truthfully, I cannot wait to return to the classroom, and I cannot wait to leave my house without fearing for my well-being. Until then, I need your help to keep my home. I know that a lot of people are struggling now that the unemployment benefits have run out, but I know that we can all make it through these difficult times if we stick together. This struggle with Covid-19 seems endless, but I know that once it is over, the true heroes of this pandemic will be the ones who sacrificed and gave what they could to the people who needed it most. I know that you are one of those people, and I promise that I will be too when I get back on my feet. Thank you for your compassion and support, especially now.
