User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI can't thank you all enough for this great gift you have given my son and I. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my chest. This help has covered so much of my son's ABA therapy. ABA therapy has helped my son so much. Although he is still nonverbal ABA has taught him how to use the picture exchange communication system to help communicate his wants and needs, he can use some sign language to communicate, he can match colors, objects, and so much more. Now we are working on potty training. I am grateful and honored that I received your help. I think the neighbor's heard me screaming with joy when I read that my application was funded.

Nonverbal Autistic Child Needs Help With ABA Therapy Cost

My Story:

I am a single mom who is employed as a full-time medical assistant and I will be applying for the nursing program in new year. I have a beautiful 5-year-old nonverbal autistic son. He enjoys watching Mickey Mouse and learning with Cocomelon on YouTube. He is so energetic and full of life. One thing he loves most is water, whether he is swimming or just splashing in the sink.

As a single mother living paycheck to paycheck on a limited budget, I am doing my best financially to give my son the best assistance/therapy he deserves. Having been cut off Medicaid due to my income being 'slightly' above the guidelines, he was able to remain on for a low monthly fee. However, ABA is not covered by Medicaid and the facility he attends is not in my employers' network. I purchased a private insurance from the ACA solely for the purpose of ABA therapy. The monthly expense of my son's private insurance, on top of the daily co-pays for the ABA therapy, the fee for his IL Medicaid and my fee for my employer's insurance has taken priority above all but has been difficult to keep up with. We desperately need Modest Needs assistance with an outstanding medical bill.

By receiving assistance it would greatly help with being able to catch up on the co-pay amounts, and it would help me tremendously to just focus on my son. Having the help to pay off the previous month's copay would take a lot off of my plate. I struggle daily worrying how I can come up to make ends meet.
