This person has left the following thank you note:

I cannot express how much I appreciate all the help I have received. This blessing has restored my faith in people and life itself! To know that there are people in this world that are willing to help strangers is absolutely amazing! This has been a very trying time for my family and I know now that we will be able to be optimistic about our future. Being able to alleviate one of my biggest concerns will finally allow my familyto begin to regain our peace of mind. My family is forever grateful for all your help and support! Thank you so much!

I Was Nearly Killed in an Accident. I'm Back to Work after 7 Months but I'm About to be Evicted!

My Story:

I am a single mother of a college student. My son is the most important person in my life. He is my biggest supporter and does everything he can to help me when he can. Now that he's at school, I work full time to support myself, and I help him out when I can.

I'm very proud that my son and I have never had to ask for help from anyone. I worked two jobs while he was coming up to make sure that we always had enough to get by, and so far we've never had a problem we couldn't solve on our own. But this year has been different. In February of this year, I was in a serious accident. I ended up on disability, which is basically half pay, until July of this year, when I was finally approved to return to work, but when I tried to go back to my old job, I found out I'd been replaced, and I ended up on unemployment.

I finally found a new job and started just this month, but I've also been getting about half my salary for the last seven or eight months, all because I was in an accident that I didn't even cause and that nearly killed me. I've been juggling bills for all of that time, but I finally ended up two months behind on rent, and my apartment complex isn't willing to wait to get paid until I do. They say they've been patient enough and that if I don't pay at LEAST one month's payment within the week, they're going to file an eviction against me. If they do that, then with an eviction on my record, I'll NEVER get another place to live, so I really can't afford to lose my home, not now, after everything I've been through.

I know my son would help me if he could, but as a college student he can barely take care of himself. None of my family has any extra money, and I don't qualify for any kind of benefits, so I really have nowhere else to go except Modest Needs. I know there are so many people who need help but if you could please help me catch up on my rent, I can finally get on with my life after the worst year I ever had. Thank you for help me if you can. I'm sorry to have to ask.
