Mother of 2 Infants With Health Issues Needs a Refrigerator to Keep Milk Cold
I am a mother of two, a one year old boy, and a 2 year old girl. I live in a desolate town with limited resources and opportunities. I love what Northern Michigan has to offer, but unfortunately the cost of living is expensive.
I have worked hard for my degree and can usually pay for living expenses for my children and I. Unfortunately, the cost of living, childcare, medical expenses, and student loans have drained all of my savings. I am currently barely making ends meet and my refrigerator died. Without a refrigerator, i cannot keep my children's milk cold. I am desperate for assistance. Before my daughter was born she was diagnosed with a Duplicated Aortic Arch and a Duplicated Superior Vena Cava. This formed a vascular ring around her Trachea and Esophagus. In January 2018, she had heart surgery four hours away from home. After over a year post heart surgery, she was diagnosed with Unilateral Vocal Cord Paralysis (UVCP). Obviously, this is devastating news. Vocal cords play an important role in swallowing, our initial problem before receiving heart surgery. We are back to square one, worrying that no food or liquids passing through her airway. With the added medical costs, I simply cannot afford a new fridge right now. I need your help.
I work in Radiation Oncology Monday through Friday and have been picking up extra shifts when possible. I do not want to choose between paying for our mortgage or buying the refrigerator. Receiving assistance will help make it easier for me to focus our time and energy on my daughter's recovery and ultimately keeping her comfortable. Thank you so so much.
