User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeWhen my husband was diagnosed with cancer, we were both scared of what the future held. After the surgery and all the complications, it was so difficult to see that good things were still possible. When I first signed up for ModestNeeds I never thought my request would be fulfilled. I am so thankful that you've given to our cause... No words can express how much I appreciate what you've done. The gift that you've given means so much... this will allow me to pay the mortgage and keep our home. God has blessed us and he will bless you as well. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! Lots of Love - Kathleen and Gary.

My Story:

My husband and I live in a tiny town in Mid-Michigan. We both work full time. I manage the trade show program at a local company and my husband is employed by a local steel company. We have 4 adult kids that live in Michigan, and we have 2 grandchildren with another one on the way. My husband enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and all outdoor activities and I enjoy camping and hiking along with drawing, painting and reading. We love to spend time with our kids and grandkids - family is so important to the both of us. We also take care of my parents. My mom has Alzheimer's and my dad has congestive heart failure and type 2 diabetes. I cook and clean for them, make sure their bills are paid and that they are taking the correct meds.

My husband has prostate cancer and he recently had surgery which caused him to be out of work for a while. A few weeks later, he was in the ER for kidney stones and had to be transferred to another hospital for a surgery to remove a 10mm stone. A few days after that he was in the ER again with pain in his calf - he had a blood clot and was put on a blood thinner. He has had a very difficult time trying to recover from the initial surgery with all of the other problems. He was supposed to go back to work on May 1st but his doctors said that wasn't possible. Now, he's scheduled to go back to work in June. I am asking for help with from Modest Needs for our mortgage payment. We both do not what to lose our home.

If Modest Needs is able to help, it would take away the worry about the mortgage and allow us to catch up on the car payments. This assistance will also give us peace of mind. I've been so worried about the bills, about my husband's health, about my parents, our kids and our grandkids. Thank you for your consideration. It is very much appreciated.
