This person has left the following thank you note:
I cant even explain how much it means to me that you are so willing to help with my medical bills. I wanted to provide a video, but I couldn't bring myself to do it without crying. My children don't really know about my health issues and I wanted them to continue to see me as a strong mother. As of right now, we have found out a few things regarding my health, but they want to do more testing. I am feeling much better at the moment and that helps me continue my work as an advocate to other survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I am honored and humbled that you chose to help me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your humanity is astounding. Most sincerely, Lyshell
Help Single Mother and Domestic Violence Survivor With Outstanding Medical Bill
I am almost 52 years young. My son is 21 and has recently moved out on his own and has a baby on the way. My daughter is 17 and lives with me approximately half of the time although she is working, going to high school and college at the same time and has band practice, I rarely get to see her anymore. I work full time at a law office and I also volunteer as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a group I started here locally. I have almost 500 members. I volunteer to teach the survivors paint therapy and workshops. I also volunteer as a board member for Cricket for America (the sport) and a mens minor league football team.
I have had some medical tests in the last few years and one just recently. I do not have insurance, and since I have had major car trouble I cannot pay my medical bills. At the moment, I do not have transportation to work unless I find a ride. I can not pay these medical bills as I need to get my car running. If the bills are not paid it will further affect my credit and I will not be able to qualify for a car loan if mine cant be repaired. I am so stressed. I need your assistance with this medical bill.
This funding will help me with rebuilding my credit. I had been married for 27 years and after the abuse I left with just $600. I had no credit in my own name. I went to college and had custody of both of my children and didn't event try to work on my credit. I am working very hard to be able to afford to have a car, a house and pay to get my real estate license. I want to be able to help my children and my sister survivors and also show them that you can survive and thrive after coming out of abuse. I want to feel empowered again.
