This person has left the following thank you note:

There is no way to describe the feeling of complete joy that overcame me at work when I learned that my application had been completely funded. I literally jumped up and down at the cash register. Though we were unable to celebrate Chistmas the way we have done in the past, me and my children are truly humbled by your generosityand can sleep a little better at night... and we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Most grateful, Tosha

Single Mom Working Extremely Hard to Catch Up Needs Your Help After Child Support Ended

My Story:

I am a single mother of four bright and creative children. My oldest 17-year-old daughter excels in puzzles and loves soccer. My 12-year-old twins (boy and a girl) love to spend time playing games on the computer and creating projects. My lovely 7-year-old daughter is very creative and loves 'baking' and playing with her play-doh. They all love to spend time with our two cats, Marianna & Sir William. I work full-time as an Administrative Assistant with the state and part-time as a retail associate at Kohl's.

I earn enough to pay for my basic expenses every month and tend to live paycheck to paycheck. I used to receive child support benefits on a regular basis but then the payments suddenly stopped due to the other parent losing his job due to medical issues. After learning that the parent would no longer be working, I obtained a part-time job at Kohl's to make up for the supplemental income to cover my household expenses but the gap in income put me behind on my rent. I need Modest Needs' assistance to get caught up.

I fear that if I do not receive assistance, I will be evicted and I have no place to go with my children. This funding will bring our household current with all of our bills again, and restore our sense of stability. I will no longer have to worry about scrambling to pay the extended late fees associated with paying the rent untimely. I will also be able to go back to paying my rent on a bi-weekly basis as previously done. I will be keeping my part-time job at Kohl's because I've actually grown to love the job and I can purchase clothing and shoes for my children at a great price. Your help would make a long-lasting impact on our family as my children will no longer have to see me struggling and praying. My children will also see that there are people out in the world who take joy in helping others.
