Single Man Supporting Himself, Needs Rent Help After Vital Car Repair for Mental Health
I am a single 30-year-old young man that has been working since the age of 17 to stabilize my life. Even though I have been diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 with Borderline Personality Disorder and am recognized as disabled by Social Security, I have never and will NEVER take that information as a life sentence. Instead, I have used the strengths from my 'disorders' to work with Doctors, Psychiatrists, and Therapists along with the Ticket to Work program to progress in life to the point where I am financially stable and am achieving goals I set out to accomplish in my career!
Living with Bipolar Disorder has been a bumpy ride, and Borderline Personality Disorder makes my emotions deeper and more attached than most others. But I have learned how to cope with the problems that come with my disorders. I work a full-time position for one of the largest Cellular Communications companies in the US as technical support, and have loved working this job for the past 2+ years I have been with them! They not only accommodate for any periods I have 'flare-ups', but have gone out of their way to make special accommodations for my work environment so that I am able to put strategic coping skills to use that have been taught to me from medical professionals throughout the years. One of the most important coping skills is meditation. If I am feeling an oncoming 'flareup' or panic attack, I have a workplace accommodation that allows me the chance to go outside to my car and meditate until the flare-up passes without impact on my attendance or adherence. I work on focusing on the cold Air Conditioning in my car passing through my hair and gliding along my skin, and use breathing techniques to get through the rough time until it passes. This is the only thing that allows me to work- as it is essentially a safety net, and I am beyond grateful that my supervisor cared enough to notice that my struggles weren't a behavioral issue, but rather symptoms from what makes me different. My AC has died in my vehicle. I had to pay many other car repairs as well and now am in desperate need of Modest Needs help with me rent.
If I was able to receive help with paying next month's rent, it will relieve the stress that begins disastrous domino effects. Your help would solidify my footing in my pursuit to live a stable and normal life that I have worked so hard for over the past 8 years. It's really hard to ask for help, but I fear the logical outcome if I don't. Thank you so much.
