Single Mom Needs Help to Afford Down Payment for Skin Cancer Treatment
My Story:
I am a single mother of 3 beautiful daughters with 2 of them living at home. One of my girls battles with Bipolar and Aspergers which makes life very interesting. Not to mention, she also has a degenerative eye disease called Keratoconus which she has had multiple surgeries for. I have been divorced for almost 4 years, but luckily my ex is a very involved father. I am now back together with my high school sweetheart after 25 years apart which I think is pretty special. I work in healthcare which I absolutely love and my boyfriend is a landscaper which is a seasonal job. My favorite thing in the world to do is go hiking. I try to go on a beautiful Colorado hike every weekend.
I have always been really good about putting money in my savings account. I have had the same vehicle since 2005 and it had a lot of miles, so just several weeks ago, I had to purchase a new/used car for my family which I had to use my savings for. Then, I got diagnosed with skin cancer. And to make it even worse than that, I had all the right intentions, but I have the high deductible plan. I have to have 2 different surgeries on August 7th. The first one to get rid of the cancer and the second one to repair me. Due to the location of the cancer, a plastic surgeon has to be involved because there is such a risk to my eye. Both surgeries are requiring full payment up front and I just don't have that money in my savings. I need Modest Needs help with the down payment of my surgery.
First and foremost, I would be eternally grateful for any help that is given. I have been working over time the last several weeks to try to come up with extra money, which is taking time away from my family. I have made plans on how to be able to put some money away, but that is only if I don't have all of this credit debt afterwards. I have tried so hard to set a good example for my girls about saving money, then life happened. If I could just get help this one time, it would help get me back on track, financially, emotionally and physically. Your help would mean so much to my family.
