A Hardworking Visually Impaired Mother of 3 Needs Your Help With Rent

My Story:

I am a Visually Impaired 46 year old mother of 3 adult children. I have a 22 year old boy, a 25 year old girl who is an army veteran, and a 27 year old girl, all of whom do not live in my home. I am legally blind but I just recently became full time employed to work from home as an Apple Care Adviser. I am Blessed that this particular company has a program targeted for the blind and visually impaired that also provided training, equipment and accommodations for me. They use Voice Over controls so I would not have to strain my eyes as I work. I have worked for the past 10 years for various companies as a CSR. I love to feel like a productive member of society and this placement by far has been the best due to its understanding of my needs as a disabled American. I have recently moved back to my place of birth on the East Coast after living in the midwest for some time. Its great to be home where family is.

I earn enough from my social security benefits and my employment for my monthly expenses but I am living pay check to paycheck. With my relocation to Pennsylvania from Indiana, the cost of living is much different. It took me some time to find work and to save for first months rent and security for a place of my own but I have done it. I started employment here on 3/30/18 with a 4 week training period. I was having intermittent internet issues which caused outages during the 4 weeks and resulted in some lost hours/wages. On top of that every time a specialist came out to help, I was charged between $49-$20 for the visits to find the issue. They came out a total of 6 times in one month! They did finally correct the issue but playing catch up is almost impossible. I need Modest Needs help with my rental payment.

The funding would make a long lasting impact because it would help me save my independence. The possibility of loosing my independence is terrifying and I would have no where to go. Timing and circumstance played such a roll. but I am finally at a work place that is a perfect fit for me and my disability. The potential for growth here is fantastic. Your help will also help my children see the good in the world. Thank you so much for your help.
