Please Help This Veteran Pay For Car Repairs To Escape A Mold Infested Apartment.
My Story:
I'm a married father of two children. The kids live away from us in another state. I'm a disabled veteran and I work full-time at CTDI. My wife does not work due to being ill and has been gradually getting more ill for the past 3 years.
We earn enough income for our basic expenses, but we recently found toxic black mold in our apartment. Breathing it for the past 3 years caused my wife and me to get sick from toxic mold exposure. My wife is worse off than I am, and we are both seriously ill. Despite several requests to the rental office to check for mold because of our symptoms, they always refused. We had to hire a mold inspector to check and the results showed high levels of dangerous mycotoxins throughout the apartment and we had to break our lease and move immediately for health reasons. We had to spend all of our disposable income and borrow from friends to get our personal belongings cleaned before we moved out. That left us with no funds at all and we are sleeping in our car until we get into another apartment. We found another apartment we can afford but it's not available for another month. We don't mind sleeping in the car until then because that gives us time to save money for starting over, but the car needs the heat fixed. We desperately need Modest Needs' help with this emergency car repair.
Your assistance with this car repair will help us tremendously. When the new apartment is available we will be okay maintaining our basic living expenses. Living in the car gives us time to pay back what we had to borrow to mold remediate our personal belongings, since the landlord refused to give any assistance at all. Please help us, we need your help so badly. You will help us repair not only our car, but our health and our lives.
