Thank you all so much! Thank you is really not enough to express how appreciative we are and humbled by each one of you for your generous contributions. Emily is over the moon excited to be able to bring her piano home. She has dreamed of this day for so long and now it's becoming a reality! This loving gift will allow Emily to grow as a musician - and as a bonus, another musician will receive her spinet piano! Thank you all so very much for helping move the piano home! Much love to all, Christa, Emily and family
Hardworking Family Needs Help With Moving Cost of 14 Year Old Talented Daughter's Piano
We are a homeschooling family with one income. My husband works long hours to provide us a loving stable home so that I can homeschool our children. My 17 year old son is a straight A student and can rebuild engines and loves to weld. My 14 year old daughter is also a straight A student and is a naturally gifted pianist. She is a volunteer for our local cat shelter, on the swim team and both kids are on a bowling team.
We make it by each month but do live paycheck to paycheck. When a distant family member called to say Emily can have her baby grand piano we were ecstatic, and then sad because the cost to move such a large piano is far greater than we can afford. Emily currently has a small spinet piano and for her level of playing is not what she should be using. This gift was so amazing and heartbreaking at the same time but I told my daughter I would do everything in my power to get this piano home. We need Modest Needs help with the expense of moving the piano 160 miles from Dayton, NV to Lincoln, CA. Because of the size (and steps at our house) we cannot move it ourselves.
If Emily were to receive this funding to move the piano into our home her learning ability will go sky-high. Since we don't have the means to outright buy a larger piano this opportunity to be given one is simply amazing. Emily also stated that once the new piano is at our home, she plans to gift the spinet to a younger student from Tamraloo Music where she takes lessons.
