In Need of Rental Help after Losing Parent to Cancer
My Story:
I am a mother of two daughters, ages 19 and 13. My older daughter is currently studying abroad in Australia, and my youngest is in the 7th grade. I work full-time as a contractor at a pharmaceutical company, and enjoy spending time with my daughter when I am not working.
My father had been living with us after his diagnosis with bladder cancer. I am fortunate to have an understanding employer that allowed me to miss work to care for my father and take him to his appointments. However, because I work as a contractor I do not receive any paid leave when I miss work. Eventually, my father's condition worsened and he had to be placed on in-home hospice care. He passed away June, and it has been very difficult. Financially, I have still not managed to fully catch up with the expenses I fell behind on while caring for my father.
I earn enough to support my household and our basic needs, but I do live from week to week pay-wise. If I could receive one-time help to get caught up with my bills, I will be able to get back on my budget and manage everything again. Despite the financial setbacks, I am thankful I was with my father during the rough time, and that he got to pass peacefully at home where he wanted to be. I sincerely appreciate your consideration and am truly thankful for any help you may be able to provide.
